Public Afairs Analyst Segun Sowunmi has said that nobody is stopping Nigerian youths from contesting elections in Nigeria.
According to him what he has observed over the years is that the young people haven’t disected and distilled the argument properly because there has never been a time where young ones have not participated in elections.
He cited Yayah Bello, Donald Deo and many others who are all young ones yet participated in elections.
”What I have noticed over the years is that young people have not really disected and distilled the argument properly. There has never been a time when in this country have not been participative” he stated.
He made this comment while speaking in an interview on Arise News.
He stressed that what the young people are saying but haven’t communicated clearly is that they want to be president. He advised that if it is the presidency that they want to take they have to bear in mind is that there are routes to use.
He mentioned that it is better anyone who wants to be president gets experience because the work of the President of Nigeria is a tough one. He mentioned security, balancing of diplomatic relationship, keeping tribes together and many others as some of the things the president of Nigeria does.
