Zambia President Collapses From Dizziness During Televised Ceremony

The President of Zambia Edgar Lungu fainted on Sunday during the country’s televised official annual ceremony for the National Defence Forces Day.

The 64-year-old head of state who is running for re-election in August, suffers from the rare disease achalasia.

The condition affects the oesophagus and causes hypoglycaemic attacks.

According to Dr. Miti during the observation of the 45th Defence Force Day Commemoration and Investiture Ceremony, the President experienced sudden ”sudden dizziness” but recovered immediately.

The President was said to have walked on his own to his car and returned to the State House.

Reports indicates that the Zambian leader had a similar experience in 2015, which was caused by what the Presidency said was an ”oesophagus condition”.

It appears the President never recovered since 2015.
