Sack Agyeman Manu Over Messy Sputnik-V Vaccine Procurement Deal-Kpebu

A Private Legal Practitioner, Martin Kpebu has charged President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to sack Ghana’s Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu.

He noted that the Health Minister hasn’t exercise caution in handling the procurement of the Sputnik-V vaccine for the national inoculation exercise.

This comes after a Norwegian news tabloid reported that Ghana has requested to purchase 3.4 million doses of the Sputnik-V vaccine through two businessmen who are selling it to Ghana at $19 per dose instead of $10 per dose on the international market.

This deal has attracted massive criticism from the general public while some suggests the deal be canceled.

Government have justified it with claims that it could not get the manufacturers of the Sputnik directly that is why it had to go through two middle men.

But in an interview Martin Kpebu disclosed that the Health Minister has failed and the least that can be done to him is getting sacked.

“He should know that Ghanaians are very vigilant; so this one, I think the Health Minister has been too sloppy and the least the President can do is to sack him. The President should know that we are very angry with what the Health Minister has done, he has not shown prudence at all and has also shown no sensitivity to how Ghanaians react to issues of money,” he stated.
