Information gathered by Pinaxnews.com indicates that the Akufo-Addo government has created over 3.8 million jobs since 2017 thus according to the Minister-designate for Employment and Labor Relations, Bright Wireko-Brobby.
As indicated by him, the created by the public authority is a mix of both private and public sector occupations.
This follows a disclosure by the Employment Minister, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah who on February 17, 2021, told the Appointments Committee that an aggregate of 3 million positions had been made as of September 2020 under the Akufo-Addo government.
In any case, showing up before the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Wireko-Brobby said the positions created by government were because of execution of lead drives carried out by the Akufo-Addo’s administration.
These drives incorporate the Planting for Food and Jobs, Planting for Food and Export, among others. Notwithstanding that, an individual from the Committee, Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu requested details of the said occupations created by the government and this is what the Minister-designate had to say;
”Mr. Chairman, as at the last count, when I was being briefed in the Ministry, it stood at around 3.8 million from 2017 to date. Including those in the formal sector and those in the agric sector planting for food and jobs.”
