The bird app, twitter has finally reacted to the Federal Government of Nigeria’s decision to suspend its operation in the country. Twitter describes the suspension of its operation in Nigeria as ”deeply concerning”.
According to reports Sarah Hart, Twitter’s Senior Policy Communications Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa responded via an email and indicated that the issue is being investigated.
“The announcement made by the Nigerian Government that they have suspended Twitter’s operations in Nigeria is deeply concerning.
“We’re investigating and will provide updates when we know more,” the statement read.
The ban on twitter’s operation comes few days after twitter took off a tweet from President Buhari’s account and also suspended his account for sometime.
This did not sit well with the Federal Government who has criticized the social media giant for deleting the tweet by the President
