6 Controversies About Prophet T.B Joshua Before his Demise You Didn’t Know

Prophet T.B Joshua is a man of God who through his philanthropic nature and way of calling most Africa Presidents to order has made his name a household name in most African countries. Ghana for instance got to know him more because of his friendship with late former President Mills. We have gathered some facts about him and we know it will keep you informed. Despite being a great man who had a lot of people praising him for his benevolence, he had so many controversies surrounding how his church operated.

  • His alleged miracle of raising people from the dead and healing people of their HIV/AIDS disease. Despite claiming to have healed people of HIV/AIDS, UNAIDS states that there is no cure for HIV and any interruptions to medical treatment can have serious health implications and infect others.

“We strongly advise people not to waste their money on T.B. Joshua and his false cures,” said Marcus Low, head of policy at the South Africa-based Treatment Action Campaign. “Supposed faith healers often lead people to forego effective treatments in the mistaken belief that they have been cured. They exploit the desperation that many sick people feel and use this desperation to enrich themselves,” he stated.

  • He was accused of sacrificing 4 people who died in a stampede at his church in Ghana. In 2013, during a sermon he was said to have shared his holy water through his wise men who worked on his behalf in Ghana. Congregants who heard prior to Sunday service that the man of God will be sharing his ‘holy water’ which cost GHS80 at the time for free stormed the Church in their numbers. Some were said to have come from Togo, Benin and Kenya for the free water. They rushed instead of forming a queue that they were asked to form hence causing four people to die and 30 to be injured.
  • He was mocked for prophesying about coronavirus disappearing in March 2020 but it rather persisted. When the novel coronavirus emerged, prophet T. Joshua was said to have prophesied that the virus will disappear on earth in March 2020. This made some believers and non believers expectant that indeed the virus will disappear only to get to the said date for it to intensify instead.
  • T. B Joshua claimed his mother carried him in her womb for 15 months. He claimed to have fallen into a trance for three days and saw a hand pointing a Bible at his heart.
  • In 2015, some staff members of his church in Malawi accused him of making fake prophecies and stealing medical records of their former President Bingu Mutharika and converting them into his death prophecy.
  • He was accused by many of using an evil spirit to operate. Some men of God in the ministry alleged he has horns in the spiritual realm which they indicated that he is very demonic.
