A video stormed social media hours ago and sadly one of the government ambulances procured under the Nana Addo administration was being used in carrying bags of cement.
The incident reportedly occurred at Bumdumbura in the Gomoa East District of Ghana.
According to reports the ambulance was being used to illegally transport bags of cement for a seller who has been caught but unfortunately the driver has since not been found.
The Deputy Director of Operations for the Ambulance Service of Ghana, Foster Asong-Bridjan has said that the matter is still being investigated in a bid to deal with those who were on duty at the station where that ambulance operates.
He stress that it is wrong at all levels that the driver used the ambulance for personal things because the driver wouldn’t have been able to help accident victims should he have met one on his way after dropping patient(s) from a Hospital.
He advised drivers not to used just one incident to generalize and have a perception that all ambulances are used for carrying cements instead of people. Because this might stop them from paving way for ambulance drivers in times of need.
