How To Prevent Kidney Failure

Kidney disease is one of the deadliest and scariest disease alive in today’s world that is destroying many homes by taking away love ones to the land of the dead. Most often than not, people who survive kidney failures spend fortunes to get kidney transplants while others also resort to dialysis. The situation becomes worse when a kidney patient finds him or herself in Africa where there are few machines or equipment used in treating the disease. In Africa people have to queue most of the time to be on the dialysis even if they have the monies. The struggle that comes with kidney failure is serious and for that matter anyone who has his/ hers intact should do well to keep it healthy at all times. Below are some measures to keep your kidney healthy.

Make healthy food choice:

Always endeavor to choose foods that are healthy. Especially fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat diary product. Do well to eat healthy and limit sugar and salt intake.

Stop smoking:

If you are someone who is into smoking then this is the only time to quit. Smoking is something that is very addictive but because of the dangers associated with it is only wise that anyone who is addicted to it finds help through counseling, speaking to a matured and elderly person.

Get enough sleep:

Make sure to have 7 to 8 hours sleep each night so that it doesn’t put so much pressure and stress on your kidney.

Limit alcohol intake:

Drinking too much can increase one’s blood pressure hence adding a lot of calories which can lead to weight gain. The weight gain can go a long way to affect the kidney.
