A five-story building undergoing demolition has collapsed onto a bus in South Korea on Wednesday killing at least nine people, according to the country’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The bus was stationary at the time of collapse on a busy road in Gwangju, some 270 kilometers(168meters) Southwest of the capital, Seoul when the building collapsed onto it.
According to the Ministry, eight more people were injured.
Reports indicates that the 16 workers who were on the site are safe and didn’t sustain any injuries.
The Ministry noted that approximately 190 firefighters were deployed for search and rescue, and the police later joined.
Report has it that the cause of the collapsed is still unclear and for that reason the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will investigate the matter.
