The former President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama isn’t happy with the Supreme Court’s unanimous decision that the Deputy Speakers of Parliament can vote even when they are presiding as Speaker.
The former President has criticized the Supreme Court’s decision and has described it as ‘shocking but not surprising”.
“A unanimous 8-0? shocking but not surprising. An unfortunate interpretation for convenience that sets a dangerous precedent of judicial interference in Parliamentary procedure for the future”, the former President wrote in a post on Facebook.
Apparently the former President sees the decision by the court as a shocking one since he didn’t anticipate that the decision will go in that direction.
