Ghanaians living in Ukraine are desperately wanting to leave the country as President Vladimir Putin threaten to attack Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shirely Ayorkor Botchway has assured all Ghanaians in Ukraine to seek shelter as the Ministry is in talks with authorities to evacuate all of them to Ghana.
A statement from the Ministry indicated that it is resorting to some authorities on plans to use in evacuating Ghanaians back to Ghana.
“The Government of Ghana is gravely concerned about the security and safety of our over 1000 students and other Ghanaians in Ukraine.” As we engage the authorities, our relevant diplomatic missions and our honorary consul on further measures”.
Some Ghanaian students living in Ukraine have expressed shock over the silence of the Ghanaian government towards their predicament.
“We keep getting scared, we really need the help of government. As it stands now, we need to come home. I’m scared, very scared, everybody around me is scared.”
