Ghana’s Economy Mismanaged By Those Who Claimed To Know Better-Dr. Manteaw

Policy analyst and communication strategist, Dr. Steve Manteaw has said that Ghana’s economy as it stands now has been mismanaged by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He went on to say that the sad thing about the economy today is the fact that it has been managed by people who bragged about transforming the country’s economy to a better one.

The then Presidential candidate of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo prior to the 2016 election promised Ghanaians milk and honey on earth but five years into their administration a lot of Ghanaians have began to complain about hardship which lead to a sit-down strike on Monday 6th December 2021.

Both Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia promised to limit the rate at which the country borrowed from foreign NGOs yet they did worse after assuming office.

Despite their numerous promises that made a lot of Ghanaians to have high hopes in them, a number of analyst are shocked at the historic happenings under the current adminitration.

Dr. Manteaw commenting on the sit down strike by some commercial drivers in Ghana on Monday said; the bare fact that, we are where we are today, because this economy has been mismanaged by those who claimed to know better. The chicken are home to roost”.

Increasing our equity participation in our oil sector is the right thing to do. It has always been my position. In 2018 I led PIAC to undertake a revenue flow analysis, which showed that equity participation gave Ghana most of its oil revenues. We cannot continue to be spectators in the extraction of our God-given resources. Of course, concerns about the valuation must be looked into”, he added.
