Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo has fired the ruling government for introducing E-Levy as part of the 2022 budget.
According to the maverick lawmaker, the opposition National Democratic Congress MPs will vote against the E-Levy.
Mr. Adongo who was speaking on the floor of Parliament said the E-Levy is a killer.
“E-Levy, Mr Speaker; no matter how you call that thing, it’s a monster. It doesn’t matter the language that you use, it’s a killer Mr Speaker that will change the face of our families and our children and the entire business community if we allow this to pass”.
Meanwhile the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta while presenting the budget on 17th November 2021 said in government’s bid to introduce a new levy-it will abolish toll collection. The E-levy on all electronic transactions is to compensate the toll that has been abolished.
