Former Deputy Minister of Finance, Mona Quartey has said that the 2022 budget read by the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta on Wednesday, 17th November 2022 is a ‘Broken-record 2022 budget”.
According to her the 2022 budget is filled with ‘failed promises and more fake promises’.
In a tweet she wrote; Broken-record 2022 Budget, filled with failed promises and more fake promises. Now it’s burden sharing. Enough is enough.
While presenting the 2022 budget in Parliament on Wednesday 17th November Ken Ofori Atta said every adult Ghanaian will have to join hands in building critical infrastructure, social services and improve lives.
He went on to say that the government need to mobilize revenue and this he noted that it mus be done collectively to make it a reality.
“A key focus of the budget fiscal consolidation to enhance debt and fiscal sustainability as we implement our economic revitalisation and transformation programme post Covid-19 to save more lives from the Covid-19 pandemic and better the
lives of Ghanaians.
“It is for this reason that Government is proposing for the consideration and approval of Parliament the revenue enhancing and expenditure rationalisation measures in this budget.
