Mmeber of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel George Nartey has described the explanation from the Ghana Police Service on the alleged attempted arrest of the Madina MP, Francis Xavier Sosu as lies.
This comes after the police in a statement stated bluntly that stories circulating that some police officers were dispatched to arrest the Madina MP on Sunday 31st October are untrue.
“Any plain-clothed Police personnel found on the premises of the church may have been there for intelligence purposes and not to effect an arrest,” the statement further said.
But reacting to the police statement, Sam George in a Facebook post stated that the police should tell their fib to class one kids that the plain clothed officers were there to gather intelligence. Absolute bumble!”.
Commenting on the police determination to use all legal means to get the MP for interrogation he said; “they must be guided by Articles 117 & 118 of the 1992 Constitution and Standing Orders 28 & 30 of Parliament.”
