The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on Friday 3rd September 2021 launched the ‘One teacher, one laptop’ initiative which is geared towards facilitating lesson planning, teaching and learning in Ghanaian schools.
At the ceremony which was held in Accra the Vice President noted that Ghana will not be left out in the fourth industrial revolution era as it will leverage on ICT tools to speed up in socio-economic development.
All teachers even from kindergarten who are in public schools are expected to have one each.
Although each teacher will be getting one laptop, it is not entirely free as each teacher is expected to pay 30% of the cost while government takes 70% of the cost.
The launch of the ‘One teacher one laptop initiative was held at the St. Mary’s Senior High School in Accra.
