Samuel Kalu collapsed to the ground only five minutes into the game in the midst of high temperatures at the Stade Velodrome. The episode caused a major worry for Kalu as players from the two sides called for medical help for the star player.
At a certain point, players from both sides formed a human shield around Kalu while he was being treated on the field like what was seen when Christian Eriksen experienced a heart failure in Demark’s Euro 2020 against Finland.
Fortunately, Kalu made a fast recuperation and had the option to remain on his feet’s. He was strolled off the pitch by his teammates while holding an ice pack against his head however got back to continue playing before he was substituted by Remi Oudin.
Samuel Kalu was given an overwhelming applause by those in participation for his fearless endeavors to play on after his breakdown. The reason for the occurrence isn’t yet known yet it isn’t the first occasion when he has imploded on a football pitch. Kalu imploded during the Nigeria’s training session at the African Cup of Nations back in 2019 because of ‘serious dehydration’.
Well, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 Bordeaux gave an assertion and affirmed that the Nigerian winger is fine after tests showed he had no heart issues.

”More fear than harm for Samuel Kalu as our Nigerain international is fit to resume training on Wednesday.
All the additional examinations carried out on Tuesday showed no cardiac abnormalities and Kalu should be in contention for Sunday’s home match against Angers”.
