Lionel Messi has officially completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year deal in the wake of leaving Barcelona following 21 amazing years.
Leo became a free agent this late spring after his agreement with Barcelona expired. The club was relied upon to re-sign him after certain underlying discussions between all parties yet LaLiga’s monetary guidelines made it outlandish.
On August 10, 2021 which happen to be a Tuesday, Leo flew from Spain to France to sign a two-year contract which incorporates an alternative to extend his stay by a year and also gives him a net salary of about €35m (£29.6m) with other bonuses figured in.
As indicated by Mail Online, the arrangement will see Messi earn a whopping £1million every week, and he will wear the number 30 shirt, which also happens to be his very first Barcelona number.
A statement on PSG’s official Instagram account reads;
”Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman and CEO of @psg
I am delighted that Lionel Messi has chosen to join Paris Saint-Germain and we are proud to welcome him and his family to Paris. He has made no secret of his desire to continue competing at the very highest level and winning trophies, and naturally our ambition as a club is to do the same.”
