The Media Must Blackout Kennedy Agyapong-Kwakye Ofosu Tells The Media

Former Deputy Minister for Communication, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu has said the media is to be blamed for entertaining the misconduct and hate speech of maverick lawmaker, Kennedy Agyapong.

Mr. Kwakye suggests that the media team up to stop Mr. Agyapong from appearing on their shows-something he believes will reduce the rate at which his misconduct spreads.

He acknowledged the fact that the media has the power to put people with wrong behavior to check than any other segment of society.

‘’Unlike many others sectors of society, the media have far more capacity to wage your own campaign and speak for yourself than any other group or entity’’.

He made this comment while speaking on TV3’s ‘’The Key Point’’ show.

Speaking on how powerful the media is, he cited how twitter took former President Donald Trump off it’s platform and also took off a tweet by Nigerian President, Muhammudu Buhari.

Mr. Kwakye susggested that Mr. Agyapong be blacked out while reacting to the Assin Central’s recent threats issued against Multimedia journalist, Erastus Asare Donkor.

Touching on the question of Kennedy Agyapong, always misconducting himself on his TV station, Mr. Kwakye posited that if the media blacks him out the impact his threats on just his Radio or TV station wouldn’t be much. There’s little you can do about his ownership, of that station. However the rest of you can band together and isolate him such that he cannot get any oxygen to express those sentiments outside of that niche that he has. At the very least, it will limit his ability to spread this kind of hate-speech and language’’
