Former second lady, Hajia Ramatu Mahama passes on.
Hajia Ramatu Mahama, wife of former Vice President of Ghana under John Agyekum Kufuor administration, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has sadly passed been confirmed dead on April 7, 2022.
She reportedly died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital,this evening after she was admitted last Monday. Hajia Ramatu Mahama aged 70 years.Her son Halim Mahama wished his dear mom (Hajia Ramatu Mahama) a safe and peaceful passage to paradise.
Confirming the sad news,Halim Mahama’s statement reads:
“Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Indeed to Allah we belong, and to Allah we shall return.)It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother Hajia Ramatu Mahama.
“Hajia Ramatu Mahama passed away peacefully this evening on Thursday 7th, 2022 in Accra.”
“May the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus,” the statement from Halim Mahama reads.
The former second lady leaves behind four children. Namely; MP for Yendi, Fayad Mahama,Salma Mahama, Farouk Mahama, and Halim Mahama.
The fomer first lady was an educationist in Tamale,and was affectionately called ‘Mma Ramatu’ by all her loved one and everyone who was fond of her.
In line with the Islamic tradition, the remains of the late Hajia Ramatu Mahama will be prepared for burial in the next 48 hours as officials are notified in line tradition and protocol.
