Tax Foreigners Doing Business In Ghana, Leavw Ghanaians Alone-Kojo Antwi Tells Gov’t

Just as some Ghanaians have objected to the pending E-levy, legendary Highlife musician, Kojo Antwi has expressed disapproval towards the controversial levy.

The musician who is affectionately called ‘Mr Music Man’ has said that the timing for the E-Levy isn’t a good one as it will go against majority of Ghanaians if it is passed.

Speaking in an interview Kojo Antwi suggested different methods of fund mobilization for the development of the nation.

He insisted that the government tax foreigners who are into business that are giving them much gains yet aren’t being taxed.

”We pay a lot of taxes. I think the government must find ways of taxing a whole lot of different things,” he said.

“E-Levy is a bit of a big blow to some of us. I say so because I have been following the debate that is going on and I think at this time with what we’ve gone through as a people with COVID … and right after that E-Levy? I think the time is not right,” he added.
