Unlike past years where office of the presidency funds Independence day celebration, current reports reaching our desk is that this year’s Independence celebration won’t be sponsored by the Presidency.
Reports indicates that the Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare has told all Regional Ministers (RMs) and their Regional Coordinating Councils in a message that the country is in a state of emergency.
In the message she noted that the President will not be able to help the regions financially for the Independence Day celebration because it is operating with a tight budget.
She then advised that the day be celebrated in all humility nationwide.
Apparently the 65th Independence celebration will be observed in Cape Coast.
