Minority Will Never Bend on E-Levy -Akandoh Asserts

Member of Parliament for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has called on all Ghanaians against the controversial E-Levy to pray and fast to make sure the Majority in Parliament do not have all of it’s members to approve the Levy.

He mentioned that the only way the Majority in Parliament can get the E-Levy to be approved is to get all it’s 137 members on board in addition to the independent Formena MP.

Meanwhile the Minority in Parliament have opposed the E-Levy since it was proposed and they have suggested that the E-Levy be moved from 1.75% to 1% but the Majority in Parliament refused to agree.

Mr. Andoh who was speaking to his constituent urged them to fast and pray so the Majority doesn’t get all it’s members on board.

“You say you don’t want the E-Levy and that when the issue is raised before the house, I should vote against it. You say that even if all the 275 MPs support the levy, I as your MP should vote against it. Then you have to pray and fast against the NPP having all their numbers in the chamber. It’s the only way to kick against it. Because even if we (NDC) oppose it, the NPP will approve it with their numbers, if they’re all present,” he stated.
