Actress Lydia Forson has finally waded into the conversation regarding the controversial E-Levy and she isn’t happy about the government proposing the E-Levy.
In November 2021, the Finance Minister of Ghana proposed the E-Levy as part government’s 2022 budget and this has attracted massive reaction from many Ghanaians.
The conversation about the E-Levy has still not died off as a number of Ghanaians have expressed unwillingness to pay the tax on electronic transactions.
While some Ghanaians feel the E-Levy is a bad one rapper Sarkodie believes it’s a good one but the timing is wrong.
While Sarkodie strongly support the E-Levy, actress Lydia Forson says there is nothing right about the E-Levy especially when government hasn’t been able to do something judicious with previous taxes.
”There is ABSOLUTELY nothing good about E- Levy!!! NOTHING. There would be room to debate it’s necessity if we’re weren’t already being taxed for nearly everything already. The argument should start from all these hidden/dodgy taxes we pay and are yet to see their benefits”, she tweeted.
