Reports fast circulating has it that Ghana has placed a travel restriction on Israel, South Korea and Malta which began on Monday 20th December 2021.
The travel restrictions according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration this is a temporary ban as it will only last for 14 days.
But the ban on Malta has been declared indefinite.
This directive from government is it’s quest to prevent the importation of the Omicron variant from other countries into Ghana.
A press statement on the travel ban on Israel pointed that travel to and from Israel has been banned except in exceptional humanitarian cases or during official visit.
Even with the exceptional humanitarian cases it noted that permission need to be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
