The member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has said that he gets totally angry the more he processes the proposed E-Levy in the 2022 budget.
In a statement he described the E-Levy as plain government thievery noting that he cannot vote to approve a budget that has the E-Levy included.
”The more I process the e-Levy, the angrier I get. It is a complete rip off. It is a taxation ponzi scheme designed to tax d same value of money multiple times. It is plain government thievery & I cannot vote to approve a budget that has that levy included. No!”
He further stated that the E-Levy is a ponzi scheme designed by government to tax the same value of money multiple times.
Meanwhile a cross section of Ghanaians have complained about government abolishing toll collection and imposing 1.75% tax on electronic transactions.
The like of Ghanaian artiste Kwabena Kwabena while reacting to the abolishment of toll collection said he is saddened that has happened because over the years monies have been collected on a major road like the Tema Motorway but no serious development has been seen on that stretch regardless.
