A Form 2 student of the Ofori Panin Senior High School in the Eastern Region has allegedly passed on after receiving punishment.
The Form 2 student identified as Andrews Appiah Tenkorang popularly known as Agabus died at the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.
According to report the sudden demise of the student has been linked to a weeding ppunishment meted out to him despite being ill.
He was reported to have collapsed while weeding.
Despite report on the student being asked to weed, the management of the school has debunked such rumours.
The school disclosed that considering his health he was asked to pick dry leaves that had littered the environment after hsi phone was seized.
The management of the school further disclosed that the student had an abnormal growth around his neck making him sick and subsequently looking pale. Management went on to say that the boy’s father who is an old student was asked to take him to the hospital.
He was taken home two weeks ago by his parent who lived at Suhum but unfortunately passed on three days ago.
