Catholic Bishops’ Comment Has Turned Into Political Football-Kweku Baako

Seasoned journalist Mr.. Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has reacted to comment made by the President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference regarding Nana Addo failing to protect the public purse.

According to Mr. Malik, the comment fro the men of God has now become a political football which political elements have taken charge of.

It’s already become political football. The political elements have taken charge of what these men of God have said and are now battling over it and the men of God, maybe, they should come back and be referees. It’s unfair.”

He called for a discussion on the comment that came from the Catholic Bishops saying; we can look at what they have said dispassionately and as I indicated, you can say all that they said was completely true or negative. You can say that. They said prices of goods are arising, isn’t it? It’s a fact. Is that not true? It’s true”.

Kweku Baako spoke on the matter when he appeared in a discussion on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ show.

Meanwhile the President of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference most rev. Philip Naameh  speaking at the 2021 plenary assembly of the association in the Capital town of Upper West Region, Wa said although poverty is staring at Ghanaians it appears lost to the leaders.

“The expressed commitment of the president of the republic to protect the public purse – a promise that citizens welcomed – seems to be an illusion now”, he continued.
