17 Killed In Road Accident Near Kumasi

Some 17 persons have lost their lives in an accident which occurred at dawn yesterday on the Offinso-Techiman road.

These 17 persons include 10 children and 7 adults.

The accident occurred when a bus they were traveling with collided with an articulator truck on the Offinso-Techiman road in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

The bus with registration number GT 6075-15 reportedly had 22 children and 7 women on board and were traveling Daboya in the Savannah Region of Ghana while the truck with registration number GS 4339-17 which was loaded with logs was traveling from Nadowli to Kumasi.

At around 3:30 am when the accident occurred, the articulator car was said to have veered off its lane and crashed into the passenger bus.

All 29 passengers onboard the bus together with the driver and the conductor were all rushed to the St Patrick Catholic Hospital at Maase near Offinso after the incident but all 17 were later pronounced dead on arrival.

Seven of the deceased were adults out of which six were females.
