The National Communication officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi has said that the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo has disrespected and insulted the people of the Volta Region and their chief.
He made this comment following President Nana Addo’s comment that the Aflao chief should complete the E-block he has been complaining about if he feels he is tired and frustrated.
The Chief of Aflao Torgbui Adzonu-Gaga Amenya Fiti V gave the government a four-month ultimatum to complete the E-block when the minority on the Education Committee in Parliament paid a courtesy call on him.
The school which was built under the erstwhile John Mahama’s administration is 90 percent complete and has been abandoned after the former President left office hence compelling the chief to complain about it.
Nana Addo in an interview with Chairman General asked the chief to complete the School building himself after hearing from the host that the chief has given his government a four-month ultimatum.
Sammy Gyamfi who was reacting to Nana Addo’s comment has described as reprehensible, cocky, cheeky and condemnable.
He noted that it is an insult to the people of the Volta Region because the President would never have said same to his chief Amotia Ofori Payin or Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
”It is an insult to all people of Ewe extraction. I am not sure he can look into the eyes of his own chief, the Okyehene, a man I respect so much and say this to him. Can he do same to Otumfuo? he quizzed.
What crime has the chief committed to express his frustration. Cheeky, cocky response! reprehensible and condemnable. Do we pay our revenue to Torgbui Fiti? when revenue is collected at Aflao does it go to Torgbui Fiti? he questioned.
