A 45-year-old farmer has been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Asamankese Circuit court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams for defiling two siblings multiple times.
Mr. Nenevi Freeman well known as Efo who was charged with defilement pleaded guilty to the charges.
The victims are under 16 years of age which is contrary to section 101(2) of the criminal offenses Act 1960(Act).
According to the Prosecutor Chief Inspector Isaac Owusu Achiaw are that the victims who are ages 12 and 13 years old lived in Akyem Abodom with their mother and grandfather and the convict is a farmer who was on the same compound but relocated.
The prosecutor said that the complainant on February 9th, 2021 received information that the convict had been s3xually abusing his two children.
He went on to say that he sat the victims down and interrogated them and they disclosed that Nenevi has been having his way with them since 2020.
He then led the victims to make an official report at Akyem Abodom.
According to the victims the convict had his way with them in separate situations when they had gone out to sell pastries and he threatened them not to inform anyone about it.
The 13-year-old disclosed that she had been s3xu@lly abused 10 times while the 12-year-old had been abused 5 times.
Medical forms of the victims endorsed by doctors of Kade Government Hospital proved that they had been defiled.
On February 14th Nenevi was arrested by the police and was charged with the offence.
