Member of Parliament Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has waded into the conversation on Nana Addo’s reply to the chief of Aflao Traditional Area Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti Vwhen he asked the government to complete an E-block in the area within 4 months.
On Thursday 21st October 2021 the President granted Kwame Sefa Kayi and interview ahead of his tour to the Greater Accra Region as par of his annual working visiting in the 16 regions.
Chairman General made the President aware that the Aflao chief has given his government a 4-month ultimatum to complete the E-block because he is tired.
The President responding stated hilariously that if the Chief is tired then he should complete the school himself.
But Hon.Okudzeto Ablakwa has condemned the President’s comment and has asked him to retract his comment and apologize to the chief and people of Aflao because they deserve it.
In a Facebook post he wrote; ”Our revered chiefs and custodians of our proud traditions deserve utmost respect at all times regardless of which part of the country they exercise their authority.
”The venerable Torgbui Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V and the people of Aflao deserve an immediate retraction and apology from President Akufo-Addo.
”No chief anywhere in Ghana should be spoken to with such derision, disrespect and condescension.
”Torgbui Fiti V rather deserves commendation for his courage in speaking out against the reckless wasteful culture of abandoning inherited projects.
”We are one people united in our collective successes and challenges; intemperate language from the President who ordinarily should be strengthening national cohesion with his pronouncements ought to be condemned by all well meaning Ghanaians.
