The former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has said that he and the NDC expected the Nana Addo administration to take the country higher when he handed over power to him in 2017.
The three-time Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress John Mahama has said that his love for Ghana makes him to constantly make comment about the state of the country.
According to John Mahama, the country is threading on a path that may affect the country’s future if he sit and watch without commenting about it.
”I can’t sit and watch unconcerned because the country is going the wrong direction…we expected this government to take the country to a higher level after we handed over to him…but the country is retrogressing”, he stated.
Mr. Mahama made this comment while addressing stakeholders of the NDC in Oti Region.
”I could have sat back, relaxed and choose not to care because I am a former [resident and per the Constitution, former presidents are to be cared for until they die but sometimes when you sit back and observe the direction at which the President is taking the country, you simply can’t help than to intervene”, he added.
