The three-time Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress John Mahama has said that his love for Ghana makes him to constantly make comment about the state of the country.
According to the politician, the country is threading on a path that may affect the country’s future if he sit and watch without commenting about it.
He went on to say that just because he is a former President doesn’t mean that he should just sit back and watch on.
Mr. Mahama made this comment while addressing stakeholders of the NDC in Oti Region.
”I could have sat back, relaxed and choose not to care because I am a former [resident and per the Constitution, former presidents are to be cared for until they die but sometimes when you sit back and observe the direction at which the President is taking the country, you simply can’t help than to intervene”.
”I can’t sit and watch unconcerned because the country is going the wrong direction…we expected this government to take the country to a higher level after we handed over to him…but the country is retrogressing”, he added.
Since his ‘Thank You Tour’ in various regions in Ghana he has been complaining about the state of the nation.
