Reports making the rounds has it that Facebook is planning to rebrand itself with a new group name that focuses on the metaverse.
Sources has it that the media giant seeks to be known for more than just social media and the scrutiny associated with it with its new pending name.
The new name is likely to position most widely used app as one of the many products under an umbrella company steering brands such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
The CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly been talking up the metaverse, a digital world where people can move between different devices and communicate in a virtual environment, since July, and the group has invested heavily in virtual reality and augmented reality, developing hardware such as its Oculus VR headsets and working on AR glasses and wristband technologies”, Verge reported.
