Die-hard fans of Manchester United have boldly called for the sack of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer after he failed to play Cristiano Ronaldo for the visit of Everton at Old Trafford in a match that finished 1-1.
Notwithstanding Ronaldo’s arrival of five goals in 5 games since his enthusiastic return to United, Ole chose to bench his headliner on Saturday, October 2, expressing that he was attempting to shield him from getting harmed.
Subsequent to hearing Solskjaer’s selection, previous footballer, Rio Ferdinand had this to say in the BT Sport studio;
”You rest Ronaldo at times, he would expect it at 36. National team games after this.. He’s bringing in Edinson Cavani, someone’s who got goals last season and who’s a leader. More surprising is that Jesse Lingard deserves a start.”
Former Tottenham start and pundit, Jermaine Jenas did not really agree with Rio Ferdinand. This is what he also ahd to say;

Ole who defended his decision on why he benched Ronaldo had this to say on BT Sport;
”Wednesday night was a big effort both physically and emotionally so it’s important that in a 12.20 kick-off we start on the front foot and freshen the team.”
