Klopp further affirmed that Thiago will be missing as he keeps on recuperating from a calf issue, yet he is confident that the two men can get back to activity after the international.

”No, No ‘news’ means they are doing well but they won’t have enough time for being back against City, but I expect them both to be back after the international break.

But we have a good team so we still have solutions and we have to use them and yeah, after the international break the boys will be back I think. In training yesterday Trent went in a little bit earlier. It didn’t look serious, then we did further assessment and in the end it was serious.

He is out for today, for sure. He didn’t travel with us. And it doesn’t look great for the City game as well. It’s a muscle thing. We thought it was tight, that he was just a bit tired from the Brentford game, but it was more and now we have to deal with that. It’s the muscle.”
