Anthony Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has affirmed his client, has been taken to medical clinic for therapy on an eye injury experienced in his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night, September 25 in London.
Anthony Joshua lost to the undefeated Ukrainian Usyk after a glimmering show.
Usyk who is a southpaw contender, landed headshots all through the challenge with his shots causing Joshua’s right eye to expand after the tenth round. Before the finish of the twelfth round, Joshua was scarcely standing and was saved by the time bell.
Addressing BBC Radio 5 Live, Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn disclosed that his boxer might have experienced a messed up eye socket.
This is what AJ’s promoter had to say;
”When he lost in New York everyone started alalysing the dressing room, the ring walk. He was fine, he was maybe a little too relaxed on the ring walk, he was shaking everyone’s hand, he was hugging a few people thats is just AJ but I feel it was the wrong type of performance.
Sometimes you have to use your attributes. AJ never really got going, he will go to the hospital now, I don’t know if he has broken his eyes socket, it doesn’t look great.”
Joshua presently has 30 days to initiate a rematch condition which will no doubt happen in Usyk’s home.
