The Minister in charge of the Western region, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has opined that most women who are pressured to make babies when they can’t have their own kids can do so many things such as stealing babies and faking pregnancy.
The minister made this comment while speaking in an interview on Angel FM on 22nd September, 2021.
He made this comment at the back of medical report from Axim Hospital where the kidnapped 28-year-old woman is seeking treatment noted that she was not pregnant prior to her kidnap as made public by her husband.
“I want to put it on record based on the information the security agency has provided to me that the woman was not pregnant. She was not pregnant according to the doctor who attended to her at Axim. Secondly, she wasn’t beaten by anyone as earlier reported.
“If you are a woman who hasn’t given birth in a community where you are being pressurized to have a baby, women do so many things, sometimes these things happen,” said Mr Darko-Mensah.
According to the minister, the alleged kidnapped woman was not physically assaulted.
