A 27-year-old fisherman identified as Yao Senya is in the grips of the Anloga police for stabbing a 71-year-old man to death in the Volat region.
The 71-year-old man who was stabbed was identified as Dumega Heletsi Akpakudzo.
Police were said to have received a report of the crime on Wednesday 15th September 2021.
According to police investigation, the son of the deceased man and the son of the fisherman were said to have engaged in a heated fight.
The 71-year-old deceased man went out to beat the son of the fisherman which then annoyed him and he tried to revenge the beatings his son received.
Out of anger and a quest to retaliate, Yao Senyo pulled a knife and stabbed the chest, neck and shoulder of the 71-year-old man.
The victim was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Keta Municipal hospital.
27-year-old Senyo is currently i police custody assisting investigation.
