A woman named Gifty Attah is in the grips of Adeiso police for allegedly defrauding a Church and its members under false pretense.
The police indicated that the woman’s means of defrauding her victims is to forcefully give herself to Christ then pose as a business woman who from the United States.
According to the police commander, ASP Baffour Awuah, the lady brought put fake dollars in the church after creating a dramatic scene and promised to help construct the church’s auditorium.
After promising to build the church auditorium she also promised the church members loans to start business with.
Some of the church members then marched to her for the loans only for her to tell them to pay GHS200 to GHS500 as registration fee.
The lady then amassed the sum of GHS2,500 from the church members and escaped with it in July 2021.
The police were informed that the said lady had relocated to Suhum where she was said to be engaged in the same act.
Gifty was then arrested. Fake dollars, mattresses and household items were found on him upon her arrest.
She is currently in police custody.
