Aveyime-Battor police has arrested two people in connection with the murder of a 12-year-old boy at Mafi Dove in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region.
According to report the main suspect who is a 26-year-old man and also a relative of the deceased, Dovi Tsidi allegedly chopped off the head of the 12-year-old boy, Kofi Kuzagbe Tsidi around 9:00pm on Sunday.
Assemblyman for the area, Mr. Moses Awukuvi-Danyevor has said that a self-acclaimed prophetess named Flora Ekpe has also been arrested for being connected with the murder.
He noted that the main suspect, Dovi Tsidi went to hiding at a prayer camp where he was with Flora Ekpe who is alleged to be linked with the murder.
The assemblyman for the Mafi Dove Electoral area stated that the victim was drown till he got weak before he was killed.
“They both stay in the same house. He took the deceased from Mafi Dove and crossed the creek at Mlagoe to Aflokofe after the drumming, where the crime was committed, he noted.
Reports on the murder of the 12-year-old boy was brought to book following a drumming competition in the area on Sunday night. The drumming was up during the funeral and burial of a relative of the victim.
According to the assemblyman for the area, the 26-year-old man “went into hiding after noticing the community was after him. He hid the body of the deceased under the creeks and bolted with the head to a maize farm where he hid the head under some leafs but was followed up and nabbed at the prayer camp of the prophetess.”
