The man who allegedly murdered his wife and two children and locked them down in a room is currently in the grips of Police in the Eastern Region.
He was said to be hiding in a farming community called Nyanoa ba when he got arrested.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh Emmanuel Kofi Gafah, the suspect is being transported to new Abirem District Police Command.
He noted that the suspect was arrested based on the appeal the police made to persons who will see him around the vicinity.
“The 40-year-old man suspected to have murdered the children and wife at Ntronang based on intelligence have been arrested based on appeal police made to persons who will see him around the vicinity. He was arrested at a village called Nyanoa as we speak he is being transported to New Abirem District Police Command”, he noted.
BACKGROUND
A woman identified as Patience Kpezle and her two children have died in a locked room at Cashland, a suburb of Akyem Ntronang in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The 38-year-old woman was found dead with her daughter, Belinda Nyarko aged 13 and Isaac Nyarko Gafa aged 11 in a locked room.
According to the Assemblyman of Mentukwa Electoral area, who reported the incident to the police Samuel Dodzi said bad odour started emitting from the locked room where the three had died which they suspected it to be strange.
Police rushed to the scene where the door to the room was locked from outside. The police force opened the door and the three bodies were spotted. They were believed to have been killed since Sunday, 22nd August 2021.
Further investigation into the matter brought to book that the husband of the woman, Emmanuel Kofi Gafa disappeared from the house since Sunday and has not returned till now.
Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command has confirmed the incident.
