Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawimai has subtly responded to the #fixthecountry campaigner’s call for the country to be fixed.
The Vice President says many things have been fixed in the country under the Nana Addo’s administration. He stressed that more are still being fixed in the country.
“We have implemented some bold policy initiatives and fixed quite a number of things that needed fixing. In fact, we have fixed many things in the country and we are fixing more.”
Dr. Bawumia made this comment while addressing the leadership of the Tertiary Students Confederacy(TESCON) over the weekend at the University of Cape Coast in the Central region.
He noted that Nana Addo’s administration in the first term ensured that it delivered on projects in the country which led to the party’s victory in 2020.
He says the Nana Addo’s administration is building up on what they di in the first term.
“We have begun our second term which is a build-up on what we did in the first term,” he noted.
“As our 2020 manifesto indicated, this term will see to the consolidation of the many laudable initiatives we undertook in the first term, many of which have led to solutions that have never been seen since independence.”
Policies and programmes such as the Free SHS, banking sector clean-up, restoration of teacher and nurse trainees allowances, ambulances for each constituency, digitalization agenda, One District One Factory, jobs and end to dumsor as some of the things Dr. Bawumia mentioned of being fixed, if not fixed, by the government.
The Vice President made this comment few days after #fixthecountry campaigners hit the street to protest.
