NDC’s Samuel George Nartey has said that it is a offence on the sovereignty of Ghana for the United States of America’s ambassador to Ghana to hoist the LGBTQ flag in Ghana when the country frowns on it.
He says the action of the US ambassador cannot be done in a country like Saudi Arabia where the practice is equally frown upon.
This comes after the US ambassador hoisted the flag of LGBTQ in Ghana on 27th July 2021 to stand with those who are in the LGBTQ community.
The Ningo Prampram MP said the US Embassy wants to destroy all their effort while the bill is on course to being passed. He made this comment while speaking on Metro TV.
”Because of the discussion on the passage of this bill, they are trying to make a grand-stand position. It is needless showmanship because the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia has not hoisted flag.
