Special Prosecutor Nominee, Kissi Agyebeng has said before the Appointment Committee of Parliament that there is no way he can completely stop corruption in the country when given the nod as the Special Prosecutor.
According to him he is not naïve to believe that when giving the nod as a Special Prosecutor he can completely wipe off corruption because even God himself will not make such a claim..
”I am not naive to assume that I’m coming to stop corruption. There’s no way I can stop corruption. God himself will not acclaim to that but, I am going to make corruption very costly to engage in”, he said.
While the vetting was ongoing he was questioned on his involvement in the infamous Agyapa deal but he stated emphatically that he was never involved in that transaction.
He denied ever having a hand whatsoever in the controversial Agyapa Royalties deal as it was speculated by his critics following his nomination as Special Prosecutor this year by the Attorney General Godfred Dame.
