Nominee for the position of Special Prosecutor , Kissi Agyebeng will appear before the Appointment Committee of Parliament on Thursday 22ndd July 2021.
The vetting is schedule for 10:00am in the Committee Rooms, 12 and 3 of the New Administration Block of Ghana’s Parliament House.
Mr. Agyebeng was a private legal practitioner, Managing partner at Cromwell Gray LLP Law Firm in Accra and also the Chair of the Electronic Communications Tribunal before his nomination as Special Prosecutor.
President Nana Akufo-Addo approved Mr. Agyebeng’s nomination by Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame in accordance with section 3(3) of Act 959.
If Mr. Agyebeng passes the vetting he will be the second person to occupy the position of the Special Prosecutor since it was created. The office of the Special Prosecutor is to investigate corruption and corruption-related offences.
