Some police and military personnel have reportedly manhandled some students of Kumasi Girl’s Senior High School in their dormitories.
This incident is reportedly to have taken place on Monday night after a demonstration the same night.
The students were said to have demonstrated following the Ghana Education Service (GES) refusal to allow them (students) go on a mid-term break due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.
The students who protested on Monday over the directive of the Ghana Education Service (GES) said they were informed earlier that they will be going home but unfortunately the head of the school made a U-turn on the earlier decision.
Some of the student have said that after a change in the earlier decision they started making noise and chanting ”we will go home”.
The authorities of the school called security personnel to restore order but unfortunately when they arrived at the scene they rather beat some of the students making some to sustain injuries.
”They came to our dormitories. They came beating some students. In my dormitory in particular they beat some people till they were bleeding.
