The road between Aiyinase and Menzezor in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region of Ghana has collapsed following heavy rainfall on Friday 16th July 2021.
The rains which caused the collapse was said to have happened around 11pm on Friday.
Commuters have been stranded as the incident has lead to a blockage of the road to Nzema Aiyinase and Menzezor. Unfortunately for a vehicle which was passing at the time, it sunk in a pit while heading towards Jomoro.
Some residents who spoke with the media blamed the unfortunate incident to indicrimate dumping of refuse in a culvert that was attached to the raod.
According to the Ellembelle District NADMO coordinator, Mr. Bright Erzan, he and his men have tried all they could to bring out the trapped vehicle but without success.
The NADMO coordinator appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to reconstruct the road before it causes more havoc.
