A largest report gathered by Pinaxnews.com indicates that the Head Porters Association of Ghana (KAYAYOO) driven by its President Hajia Adiza Zongo, has requested the former first lady Lordina Mahama to return all state cash she had received whiles her husband was president of mother Ghana.
You would recall that the Emoluments Committee endorsed the allowances of current first and second ladies, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo Addo and Mrs. Samira Bawumia and guess what, the first lady was reported to an amount of GH¢ 21,000 a month which will be backdated to 2017 when her husband took office.
Be that as it may, the payment of salaries/allowances to the first and second ladies became a topic of discussion amongst most Ghanaians as they were against the idea with various reasons.
After an intensive discussion between the president and VP, both first and second ladies chose to refund all monies paid them from 2017 and also chose not acknowledge any remittance from the state.
Mrs. Rebecca Akufo Addo presented a cheque of a whopping GH¢ 899,000 which she took as allowances ince January 2017 through the Consolidated Bank of Ghana, CBG.
Mrs. Samira Bawumia in a letter endorsed by Kwame Twum Esq, her senior assistant, dated July 13, 2021 repeated the need to refund all state monies and stipends paid her since 2017.
Talking on the matter on Accra-based radio station, Peace FM, with Odi Ahenekan Kwame Yeboah, the leader of the Kayayo Association, Hajia Adiza Zongo boldly called on the former first lady, Lordina Mahama to refund every single dime and remittances paid her.
